Events and Fundraising Manager at Ruth Bancroft Garden (SF)

The main responsibility of the Events and Fundraising Manager (EFM) is to direct the fundraising events at the Garden, assuring their effectiveness and overall profitability. The EFM will also assist the Director of Special Projects in managing the private facility rental program.  The position is 5 days/week, 40 hours, with at least one weekend day each week and evenings as needed. The EFM reports to the Executive Director.  The EFM is responsible for the planning and execution of all fundraising events at the Garden, including recruiting volunteer leadership to help produce the two main fundraisers: Sculpture in the Garden and The Annual Dinner. The EFM will work to increase the attendance and profitability of all events by a set percentage every year, as outlined in an annual event plan to be approved by the Executive Director.

The Salvadori Center seeks an Education Director to implement and oversee Salvadori’s educational programming ~ including in-school, after-school, and professional development programs, as well as family and community workshops. The successful candidate will be a team player, an organized and effective manager with strong creative and critical thinking skills. Salvadori has a robust array of curricula, publications, and products with a staff that is well-trained in long-standing protocols and instructional methodology.  The Education Director manages day-to-day program operations, including staff schedules, work assignments, budgets, evaluations, and assessment.Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Education Director is a key member of Salvadori’s Leadership Team. The Education Director assists the Executive Director with answering inquiries from schools and organizations, represents Salvadori at educational events, and serves as liaison with schools, the New York City Department of Education (NYC DOE), and other educational and cultural organizations. The Education Director works closely with Salvadori’s Development Director to align programs with funding opportunities and ensure that the organization’s marketing materials accurately promote program objectives to appropriate target audiences.

The Chief Development Officer (CDO) is a newly-created position, designed to fully exploit fundraising opportunities to sustain HMI’s broad scope of work, while positioning the organization to achieve ambitious growth plans. The CDO is responsible for planning, implementing, and leading all of HMIs fundraising efforts, both public and private. The CDO will work in partnership with the Executive Team, Board, and Board Development Committee, and will lead, encourage and mentor a team of professional fundraisers.The CDO will have a deep understanding of Youth Development theory and practice, and work extensively with all areas of the organization, including: Finance, Youth Services, Advocacy, Operations, and Communications to identify specific needs and guide fundraising strategies for each area. In partnership with the CEO and Board, the CDO’s role will include shared responsibility for maintaining favorable relations with all external constituents, including donors, private and public funders, and other key constituents that sustain the organization.In addition to being a persuasive and knowledgeable fundraiser, the CDO will stay abreast of the shifts in the external environment that may affect HMI, in order to fully seize emergent opportunities, and provide guidance for adjusting fundraising strategy when required necessitated by emerging external obstacles or other forces of opposition.The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to their previous employer organizations, as evidenced by their contributions to sustain it financially, guide its strategic growth, and their length of service over a sustained period of time.

Educator Engagement Consultant at Girl Rising (remote)

Girl Rising believes the hard and soft skills a young person needs to be a positive, active citizen capable of creating a livelihood in today’s world are multi-faceted. Our Educator Program, at the heart of our work in the United States, inspires students to see beyond their borders, value their education, and believe that they have the capacity to change their own lives and the world.
