Overview of the PositionThe Project Director is a new position that will be responsible for the leadership, development, and implementation of Grantmakers United for Trans Communities. The three key areas of responsibility are:Leading an ongoing campaign for funders to show their support for trans communities and take steps to increase the scale and impact of their trans funding as well as their internal trans inclusiveness.Further designing, implementing and managing the project’s fellowship program, including finalizing the program plan in consultation with the Trans Funding Working Group, launching the fellowship, and managing the ongoing support for participants.Coordinating the ongoing network of funders, working collaboratively with members to build a network for sharing information and resources.The Project Director will play an important leadership role in the organization, and should be a team player with the creativity and entrepreneurialism to bring an ambitious new initiative to fruition while working collaboratively with a small staff and a growing network of funders. The Project Director will report to the Director of Engagement and will also work closely with the President and the Director of Research & Communications. The Project Director will be responsible for supervising consultants, interns, and possibly part-time staff devoted to Grantmakers United for Trans Communities. Funders for LGBTQ Issues main office is in New York City; several of our staff work off-site, and we are open to candidates based anywhere in the U.S.
